Daniel Beck

Daniel’s interest in design, detail, and construction developed at a young age while creating and building theatrical sets with his father and brothers. Pursuing his enthusiasm for the artistry and interconnectedness of those early endeavors, Daniel studied Theatrical Design and Production at the University of Southern California, the University of Cincinnati, and Virginia Tech, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Architecture. Drawn to the intimacy, level of detail, variety, and possibilities inherent to residential design, Daniel’s practice is devoted to creating the backdrop for daily life: a complex, intriguing, and ever-fulfilling enterprise. Originally from the Upstate of South Carolina, Daniel settled in Charleston with his wife and family to enjoy the historic context, architecture, and culture of The Lowcountry.

Daniel Beck Architecture

Dedicated to artistry, craft, and beauty, Daniel Beck Architecture strives to create treasured homes for its clients. Rigorous, comprehensive designs are created for exacting clients who bring a broad range of project types to the firm. DBA projects are intelligently considered and expertly executed from historic urban properties to oceanfront homes to estates on rolling acres. Engaging and specific in their approach, founder Daniel Beck and his team aim to provide clients with an exceptional experience. Clear communication throughout the design process aligns all parties and eliminates uncertainty. At the beginning, hand-rendered sketches reflect the owners’ ideas and initiate spatial concepts and organization. These drawings become virtual 3D “walkable” models that offer clients, contractors, and consultants the clearest picture and full comprehension before construction begins.

The firm’s success and appeal led to collaborations with talented designers, and artisans including Steven Gambrel, Allison Abney, Glen Gardner, The Urban Electric Co., Margaret Donaldson, and Shannon Bogan.
